Euthanasia

Providing compassionate care during a difficult time.

There are several reasons that may lead to the decision to put a pet “to sleep.” Regardless of the circumstances, this is never easy for the pet’s family and loved ones. At the Hôpital Vétérinaire St-Lambert, we will be there to support you throughout the process, allowing you to grieve and to spend a few final moments with your loyal companion.

What is euthanasia?

Euthanasia is a procedure in which a medication is administered intravenously by a veterinarian to bring a pet’s life to an end. This is a gentle procedure that ensures dignity throughout the animal’s last moments.

Can I accompany my pet during euthanasia?

Yes. Your presence is likely to make your pet feel calmer and more reassured. Of course, this is a difficult situation, and it is absolutely understandable if you do not feel comfortable being there. If so, please let us know. A member of our team will accompany your pet instead, providing comfort and reassurance throughout the procedure.
